Dave's Music

In all the years since David passed, still hardly a day goes by that I don't think about him.
On occasion, I will update this page with a random old photo, song or thought.
I miss you terribly, my friend.

I've added another one of the unfinished songs we were working on in my basement.
Honestly, these were never meant to be unleashed this way.
But I don't think he'll mind since it's all I've got to give you.

- Message From Clay -

My sincerest thanks to all/anyone/everyone who wrote, called, attended
any of the services and/or events, thought of, cared about or otherwise
had anything at all to do with Dave in his all too short but adventurous lifetime.

The service was beautiful, his family and friends wonderful and inspiring though deeply
saddened by his physical absence. Dave was simply one-of-a-kind...
never to be replaced, deeply loved and missed for eternity.

At this time, I just wanted to put all the obituary guest book entries here
so they don't disappear.

I offer my best to everyone who was close to Dave; I know this includes many
people. He had such intelligence, wit, integrity, and vitality. He was a truly
exceptional person. My hope is that Dave's family and close friends rest assured
that he has made a major impact in so many people's lives. He will be missed,
beyond words can express. Much love to you all -

I ran into and spoke with David often in the last 8 yrs. or so at live music events
and at our favorite watering hole. He was comfortable to be around and generous
with his time. He'll be sorely missed.

I knew Dave as a boy who grew into a man with a zest for life and a love of
adventure. He was a pied piper who brought us all along. He was blessed with a
father and mother who never thought anything mattered more than their children.

Let's just be thankful for all the special moments that Dave has left us. And with
that, I hope that my cousin will continue to live on within our hearts and minds. To
me Dave was a Gentle Man and a Gentleman.

My best friend and music writing partner for 33 years... I love you, Dave. Thank
you for sharing your life with me.

You have the most amazing family and friends I've ever had the honor of
experiencing. Such love and caring is a testament to how wonderful a person you
are, and how deeply you touched all of us.

I can't wait to play and write music with you again. In the meantime, behave
yourself and save me a seat.

God bless you (I'll bet you believe now).

Godspeed my friend...
It saddens me it was your time to leave us...
Your spirit lives on with me and so many of your other friends...
We'll celebrate and honor your life and having had you in ours
by living peacefully and well and enjoying the simply, fine things -
friendships, music, "our" gathering spots...

What better honor then to say "I'm a better person and life is richer
for having known you"... I'll always have that special day to remember
and celebrate our friendship. I'll raise my glass but it just won't
be the same without you...

To my little brother...Your passing was at first a relief to me since it ended your
suffering. Now, words cannot express the loss I feel. I was with you in this fight
from start to end. All I can say is that you fought valiantly. You never loss your
dignity which was a big worry to you. Watching you go through what you did made
me feel like the little brother. I am so proud of you and will always keep you in my
heart. Its my greatest pleasure to have had you as MY brother. I miss you so much.

Say hi to dad! Love you Bro.
